Sound System Update
There were some teething problems with the "sound system" that I set up yesterday.
I tried hooking up my receiver but kept getting more intererence than radio. Weird thing was, the interference disappeared when I placed my hand over the receiver.
It was quite perplexing. Wonder if anyone can provide an explanation for it. Any RF expert reading this please enlighten me yah. Thanks.
Anyway, I was wondering if it was a problem with the speakers and not with the receiver. So I switched back to earphones. Voila!! The problem disappeared... Weird...
Now I was starting to think that maybe it was an impedance matching problem. Or something like that. Memories of boat-making came flooding back. Stray signals, interference, cranky circuits... Impedance matching for antenna... Argh...
I was ready to whip out my multimeter and do some testing when I stumbled upon a quick and simple fix. Check it out.
Yup. I hung the receiver on the wire instead of placing it on my table. It seemed to solve the problem. And I was able to hear the radio clearly. There was the occasional distortion, but generally reception was ok.
Now the question is, do I really have to leave the damn receiver hanging in mid-air? Why does this solve the problem? Is there a better solution? Anyone can provide some answers? Much appreciated!

Try separating the speakers wire in 90 degree manner..i think it helps for FM.
