Long Run Thoughts

Nope this is not a post about my future plans. The title is more literal. Its basically some thoughts that I had while doing my long run today.

Its amazing the way my mind was entertaining itself throwing random thoughts at me. I guess it needed something to do while my body was going through the repetitive motion of placing one foot in front of the other.

Anyway let me share some of these thoughts...

Thought 1:

Runners are a bunch of crazy nuts. I mean in this day and age, we have cars, taxis, buses and a whole host of transportation. WHY do we still need to run? Hell... we can even ride a bicycle!! WHY run? Gotta be crazy...

Thought 2:

Eh... wait... I'm running... Oh shit... I'm crazy too...

Thought 3:

Owww.... My legs hurt... I can't feel my feet... (communication has finally been re-established b/w my body and mind)

Thought 4:

Why on earth am I doing this to myself? Re-visit Thoughts 1 and 2.

Thought 5:

This was a little longer and involved some role playing. I was basically wondering whether we would still have the Marathon if Pheidippides had served in some OTHER army instead of the Greek army. Imagine the scene between the occifer (read: officer) and Pheidippides...

Occifer : Oi Pheidippides, come here! Need you to do something.

Pheidippides : KNN... @!)(@# Kena ARROW do sai kang again...

Occifer : Eh, I need you to send this message back to Athens.

Pheidippides : Huh Sir? Bo kor leng lah... Athens so far...

Occifer : *(@&#*(@ You dun come and talk cock. You think this one your grandfather army ah?

Pheidippides : Sir... Cannot lah... I excuse RMJ, plus Attend B, plus excuse sunlight and dust.

Pheidippides hands over his excuse scroll and siams the arrow to run to Athens. Thus we would never have the Marathon!! And I wouldn't be doing this now... Revisit Thoughts 3 and 4.

Anyway, those were just some of the thoughts that were running through my head as I was running through Tanjung Beach (Haha.. lame I know). Amazing stuff huh? Well, now its time to give my body and mind a rest. Zzzzz...
