Spontaneous Outing
Very often we plan outings with numerous factors in mind. We try to optimise these factors to ensure that everyone has a fun and enjoyable time. We fret over whether the place is convenient, whether the activities would be fun and a host of other little details.
More often than not, we end up thinking so much about these factors that it becomes a chore to organise outings. Which leads me to ask: What makes a great outing?
Is it a good location?
Well a good location surely helps. I'm sure we wouldn't really want to travel all the way to Tuas to have dinner!! But most areas are generally fine.
Is it the food then?
Being Singaporean, food definitely plays a very important role in our social gatherings. But somehow, I think its not exactly THE most important factor.
Well if it ain't all that... It can only be...
Yep! The company!! The single most important factor to a successful outing.
And you can tell that this outing was definitely a success from the satisfied looks on our faces after we were done demolishing the BBQ sotong, kai lan in oyster sauce and hotplate tofu.
Ah Le and me. Or is it Ah Le and I? Jialat Ah Le's gonna scold me. He's an Engrish teacher.
Faith and her lethal barley concoction. Hiak Hiak... private joke amongst the four of us.
Angel and her controversial t-shirt.
Anyway it was a great spontaneous outing. Spontaneous cos we only arranged it the night before at around 1 am! So much for forward planning huh!
But I guess Soulezians (more about them soon) are a rare bunch of people who actually respond well to such spontaneity. This was probably one of the smaller spontaneous outing turnouts, but it was good fun nonetheless. Definitely a good break from projects, FYP and assignments!
